On May 24th, Prof. Wei Sun, Chairman of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST), visited Cnsterilezoom. Longzhu Wei, Chairman of the Board of Directors, along with Fuchang Yang, General Manager of Clean Technology, and Wei Zhang, Director of the Marketing Center, warmly welcomed the visiting guests.

Between 1981 and 1985, Prof. Wei Sun studied at the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Shanghai University of Technology (formerly the Department of Power, Shanghai Institute of Mechanical Engineering), majoring in heat transfer, mass transfer, and fluid mechanics, and served as sports minister and student union vice chairman. In 1988, he traveled to the United States to pursue postgraduate studies and later served as director of research and development, chief engineer, and vice president for several prominent American architectural design firms and research institutes. In July 2016, Wei Sun was elected chairman of IEST, marking the first time since the founding of IEST that its highest office was held by a Chinese scholar.

Prof. Wei Sun toured the showrooms, workshops, and laboratories at Cnsterilezoom, showing keen interest in the advancement of the cleanroom industry. He observed that China is steadily advancing toward becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse, noting that indoor air purification technology provides an essential environmental safeguard not only for commercial and civil architecture, but also for cutting-edge high-tech manufacturing sectors.

IEST possesses robust technical expertise and an active global cooperation roadmap. Through collaborative partnerships with domestic universities, professional societies, and enterprises, the institute seeks to help domestic academic institutions publish more research and participate in broader international academic exchanges in prestigious global journals, while empowering Chinese enterprises to deliver high-end equipment to the world.

Founded in 1953, IEST is a worldwide non-profit, multidisciplinary academic organization focused on indoor air purification, contamination control, cleanroom design and manufacturing, equipment testing, and product reliability. The institution actively formulates US standards and evaluation guidelines across these specialized disciplines.

Through this technical exchange, Prof. Wei Sun provided valuable technical guidance and advanced technological solutions from the United States, significantly accelerating the growth and innovation of Cnsterilezoom within the cleanroom field.
